Suzane Queiroz

Biography

I have a degree in architecture from UFRJ. Throughout college, my process of space discovery was closely linked to the experimentation of various artistic activities such as painting, sculpture, and installations. In the set design, I found the possibility of experimenting with this fusion between space and art with freedom and creativity, both in the choice of materials and the development of structures. It is from the understanding of this relationship, without any standardization and with infinite possibilities, that my projects are born.

My work always has a close and individual inspection at all stages of the process. Besides the creation, I lead the direction of planning, technical development, and production with the teams of each project, which ensures extreme flexibility to the company when it comes to the most diverse deadlines and goals.

When I was a little girl, I dreamed of being a magician.

I am a Brazilian Architect, Designer, and Set Designer. For 15 years I have been running my greatest creation, where I find space to do, every day, magic with joy: The Pândega Company.

Corporate and cultural events, booths, theater, concerts, exhibitions, studios, and catwalks. In the preparation of sets, my area of expertise is wide:

I had the pleasure of signing the art direction and set design for the national and international tours “Ária” in 2010/2011 and “Rua dos Amores” in 2012/2013 by singer-songwriter Djavan. Right now, I am developing the set for the next tour called Vidas pra Contar.

Over the past 3 years, I have followed Banco Santander’s Narrativas Poéticas Travelling Exhibition, for which I designed the exhibition path in partnership with Marcello Dantas.

In theater, I have signed the set design of the musical Hedwig; I have worked as the executive set designer for the musical Mágico de Oz and Elis, a Musical, for Aventura entretenimento;

Children-Youth Environment Design: Floresta de Livros, Maré de livros, and more recently Bamboleio. Successful spaces developed for the Book Biennial in Rio de Janeiro in 2009, 2011 and 2015, respectively;

Canal Futura Journalism Center – permanent architecture and set design project for Studio and Newsroom, launched in 2011;

Design of catwalks for various brands such as Kryia, Blue Man, Addict, Oh Boy, and Nica Kessler at SPFW, Fashion Rio and Fashion Business;

International exhibitions such as Christo Redemptor and Bossa Nova, at UN Headquarters in New York in 2007 and 2008;

Editora Abril Awards, for 6 years: Comer e Beber Award, Claudia Award, Bravo Award, Contigo Award from 2007 to 2013;

Major events such as the World Cup Trophy Tour, 3000 m2 environments in Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo, simultaneously in 2006;

Over the years, my work has gained recognition in regional and national awards. Some of the awards I won are:
